This should be mandatory for the sanity of all mothers old & young. On Friday night I was able to go out and have a couple beers and some good food with some other moms from my church. It was so much fun to just chill out and enjoy conversation. I've really struggled with a sense of isolation from the other moms at church, especially as my parenting style differs pretty much from theirs. But there's also that obnoxious element of female wariness and competition that also seems to come into play no matter where one is. It was a real joy to have a way to get to know each other a little better. I think we're going to make it a monthly thing! At any rate we already have the next one planned out.
